The daily driver playbook: a workday on Copilot.
Features are trivia until they're a routine. This is the routine — a realistic workday with Copilot woven in at the five moments it pays best, so the tool becomes muscle memory instead of a demo.
01 8:00 — Triage, not inbox archaeology
Before opening a single email: "Summarize what came in since yesterday evening. Group: needs reply today / waiting on me / FYI. Flag anything from [boss/key customer]." Then handle the needs-reply pile with drafts: "Draft a reply agreeing to the timeline but pushing the kickoff to Thursday — my tone, brief." Ten emails, fifteen minutes, and you never scrolled.
02 8:45 — Meeting prep in one pass
For each meeting today: "Prep me for the 10am — who's coming, what's the history from mail and files, what's likely contentious, what do I need to walk in with?" The people-and-history grounding is what generic chatbots can't do; two minutes per meeting turns you into the most prepared person in the room, which is a reputation with compound interest.
03 9:30 — The focus block, protected
04 1:00 — The catch-up superpower
Missed the overlapping meeting? "Recap the 12:30 — decisions, action items, anything assigned to me or my team." Then the quiet unlock: you can stop attending meetings where you're only an ear. Recap-and-skim beats attend-and-drift, and Copilot makes it socially survivable. Guard the habit for meetings where you're genuinely optional — and be honest about which those are.
05 4:45 — The wrap that sets up tomorrow
"Recap my day: what I sent, what I committed to, what's still open. Draft tomorrow's top-3 list." Two minutes. The compound effect: every morning starts with yesterday's loose ends already gathered instead of reconstructed from memory and dread.
Don't run all five moments on day one. Install ONE — triage is the usual winner — until it's automatic, then add the next. Routines built all-at-once collapse all-at-once; this playbook is a month of installs, not a Monday.
Tomorrow morning, run the 8:00 triage prompt before touching your inbox manually. Time it against your usual first half hour.

Install the triage habit for five straight workdays — same prompt, every morning, before manual inbox time. Friday, add the 4:45 wrap. Those two bookends alone typically buy back 30–45 minutes a day, and they're the foundation the other three moments bolt onto.
