Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 19, 2026 · Effective immediately
LearningGPT, Inc. ("LearningGPT," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. We've tried to write this in plain language. Where we use legal terms, we explain them.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you join the waitlist, sign up for a free or paid account, or contact us.
- Payment information — handled by our payment processor Stripe. We never see or store your card number, CVV, or banking details. We only see the metadata Stripe shares with us (e.g., last 4 digits of card, customer ID).
- Account preferences and progress — which lessons you've started, completed, or saved.
- Communications — if you email us, we keep the email so we can respond.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage analytics — pages visited, time on page, country, browser type, device type. Collected via Vercel Analytics. No cookies are set for this; Vercel uses a privacy-preserving method.
- Playground usage — the prompts you submit through the playground are processed by AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, xAI) via our intermediary OpenRouter. Prompts are not stored by us beyond temporary processing.
- IP address and timestamps — included in server logs for security and debugging. Retained for a maximum of 30 days.
Information we don't collect
We don't ask for, collect, or store: your date of birth, government ID numbers, Social Security number, health information, exact location data, biometrics, or contact lists. We don't track you across other websites.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the LearningGPT service (deliver lessons, run the playground, manage your account)
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Send transactional emails (welcome, payment receipts, subscription updates, password resets)
- Send occasional product updates if you've opted in
- Understand how the product is used so we can improve it
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information to train AI models. We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We do not share your information with advertisers.
3. Third-party services we share data with
We share limited data with third-party service providers that help us operate. Each is bound by their own privacy policy and uses your data only to provide their service to us:
| Service | Purpose | What we share |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Email, payment method (you enter directly with them) |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | Email address, message content |
| Vercel | Web hosting + analytics | Usage data, IP address (anonymized) |
| OpenRouter | AI model routing for the playground | Prompts you submit through the playground |
| Microsoft 365 | Our internal email (dan@learninggpt.ai) | Emails you send us |
If you connect your own Microsoft 365 account to Claude (or any other AI tool) for lessons, that data flows directly between you and that AI provider — we don't see it.
4. Your rights and choices
Access, correction, deletion
You can request a copy of the data we have about you, correct any inaccuracies, or ask us to delete your data entirely. Email dan@learninggpt.ai and we'll respond within 14 days.
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal (link in your account or in your email receipts). Cancellation stops future charges. You retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Email preferences
Transactional emails (receipts, account notifications) cannot be opted out of while you have an active subscription. Marketing or product-update emails include an unsubscribe link in every email.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you cancel and don't return, we retain it for 12 months in case you want to reactivate, then delete or anonymize it. Payment records are retained as required by law (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data. All connections use HTTPS. Passwords (if applicable) are hashed, not stored in plain text. Payments are handled by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant). We don't claim our security is perfect — no service can — but we apply standard best practices and respond promptly to incidents.
If you believe your account or data has been compromised, email us immediately.
7. Children's privacy
LearningGPT is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe we have collected data from someone under 13, please email us and we'll delete it promptly.
8. International users
LearningGPT is operated from the United States. If you're accessing us from outside the US, your data is transferred to and processed in the US. By using LearningGPT, you consent to this transfer.
If you're in the EU or UK and want to exercise rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection), email us and we'll comply within 30 days.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes, we'll email active subscribers. Continued use of LearningGPT after a change means you accept the updated policy.
